Kailey's 14th birthday

In June my mom, Kailey, and I decided to take a girls weekend getaway trip to San Antonio for Kailey's 14th birthday.  We stayed at the La Mansion del Rio hotel with a room overlooking the riverwalk.  It was beautiful!  We took a riverboat cruise, ate some really great mexican food, saw a movie at the IMAX, and shopped.  We had a great time!  What a special way to celebrate the birthday of a very special girl!

Our Family Blog

I created this blog about a year ago when we were in the process of trying to adopt a child from Africa.  That adoption has since fallen through, but we still hope to be able to adopt from Africa someday.  Travis continues to travel to Africa as often as he possibly can, and someday we hope to all go there together as a family, so the title of the blog still seems fitting and I will keep it as is. 

In the meantime, life is speeding by at lightning speed.  I hope to be able to keep up with our family's happenings better through this blog.
